I was contacted by Janelle a few months back and she was excited about planning her wedding day, although slightly overwhelmed as she was planning from a far. Her and her now hubby Jimmy, live in Florida. Janelle is a Pittsburgh native and her family still resides in here, but Jimmy comes from Georgia, where his family still lives. So to say stress may have been a little factor for planning is an understatement...
However, From the moment Janelle spoke and planned with me, every step of the way, I knew it was going to be special.
I started off with the Bridal party at the The Mansion at Maple Heights, which is a gorgeous bed & breakfast in Pittsburghs Shadyside neighborhood. The girls where just finishing up with their hair and makeup and enjoying some drinks while talking about their days past. They had the prettiest coordinating dresses with their own little look which when put together, were extremely beautiful. All while there was commotion and laughing in the background, the bride put on her finishing touches while staring out the non-stop rainy window, glaring at mother nature. After slipping into the most unique Ive ever seen, designed partially by her mother, it was time to head of the the ceremony.
I arrived before the ladies, where I found the guys being, well guys and trying out the flying simulator and joking around. We walked around the inside of the Aviary where I was able to check out the inside of the exhibits and get a few ideas incase we had to stay inside.
Soon after, we headed off to the ceremony, where I saw Janelle and Jimmys interaction for the first time. There was love in his eyes while he watched her walk down the aisle and she laughingly walked out of the rain and down to him, ending with a look of its finally here. They quickly exchanged vows and locked lips for the first time as Mr & Mrs.
After the ceromony, there were no signs of the rain settling, so we headed into the atrium, where we found the prettiest location for photos. I couldn't have been any happier that it was raining outside and we had this chance to shoot indoors, IT! WAS! GORGEOUS! Everything anyone could ever ask for their wedding photos. Their connection together was fun, beautiful, romantic, loving, caring but hilarious. You could tell they had a real great bond that balanced one another out.
After the formals, we headed off to announce the couple as Mr & Mrs for the first time. We watched them dance, cut cake and hilarious yet lovingly smash it into each others face. Then came the toasts where everyone got to learn a little more about the bride and groom. They were hilarious! You could definitely tell what kind of people they were as their Made of honor and best men dished it all out. They held nothing back, but you could tell that they were great friends and loved by so many; such helpful, caring people.
By the end of the night, the party was really going strong, as was the time they were sharing with everyone together. The dancing, laughter and drinks were continuous, the jokes non-stop and the smiles and laughter went on forever, which included singing by the grooms man and rapping by the groom himself which really made the end of the night special, in which we wrapped it up with beautiful photos in the garden, finally after the rain came to an end with the night.
Here is to many beautiful and happy years to never end,
