New Clarks on the Block | Pittsburgh Wedding | Ashwood Imagery
I entered October with slight anxiety, but high hopes of baby number 3 holding out for my final wedding before I began my maternity leave; he listened well! When Ashlei & Cameron's wedding day arrived, I was less than energized but fully excited to go out in a bang with what I knew was going to be an epic day of fun and anything but normal! This wedding was going to be trendy and nothing short of eccentric. The weather was perfect, which in Pittsburgh, fall is so unpredictable. Sunny, warm & more summer like, though, for a wedding, we did not mind at all.
This was a wedding I was mostly looking forward to this year as me and the bride, Ashlei, go way back. We met through mutual friends when I was just 16 and became good friends, sharing a lot of similarities that some would find rather odd; Both our parents being named the exact same, as well as our names, just all differently spelled. Shortly after high school, we went our separate ways, but reconnected through social media some years back.
Ashlei met Cameron along the way, through her father playing in bands along side Cameron, who just so happened to drum and caught Ashlei's attention during a show. Cameron then swooned her over on a date to Patron's, which works so well for them and their style. That is then where a relationship blossomed. After a couple years, Cameron decided to pop the question during a night out on the town, where he proposed to her on the famous Duquesne incline, where she gladly said YES!!
Ashlei was over the moon, both in love and super excited to begin her wedding day planning. From just about the beginning, Ashlei asked me to be the photographer for her big day, in which of course I could not turn down and knew it would be something special and different from the norms. I was filled in on the little details about the wedding that kept me so excited and I knew it was something I had to be apart of no matter what!
The day went off without a hitch, so relaxed and a ton of fun. The love that everyone shared with both the bride and groom as well as everyone who attended that day. No matter who you were, you were treated like family, apart of all the laughs, the hugs, the dancing! I can tell you that I had never been taken onto the dance floor by the father of the groom before to share in on the song that the Father of the groom used to sing to his son to put him to sleep, which was 'Sweet Child O' Mine'. It's something we share in common as I now sing it to my kids every now and again and the group surrounding us sang it to my big baby bump. It was very sweet.
When it came to all of the special events during the reception, it was nothing short of hysterical laughs or tearful joys for the couple. The cake table got messy, the first dances were emotional and the toasts, you weren't sure if the tears were from laughing so hard or sharing in the memories of joy. Don't even get me started on the bouquet and garter tosses!!
All in all, you could feel the love felt between Ashlei & Cameron on their day, and how much love and support they had from all of their friends and family. They are one of kind and surely share a ton of interests between them. I wish them the best and give all of my love to the two of them for many, many wonderful years to come!
